Since Texas consists of a large number of Republicans, how’s the state’s people in general toward minority groups? Please explain the jokes about rednecks, are they actually true? What are the good/bad things about Texas when it comes to social aspects?
I cannot believe some “righties” are even getting mad at me for asking this question. You cannot help but feel a sense of anger toward the liberals’ prejudice when some of you guys are doing the same to them. Republican/Democrat, does not everyone wants a better country and more friendly environment?

I’m not from the US, but I always hear on US TV and movies and jokes they make about Rednecks and Hill Billies, I think I have an idea, but can you tell me what the difference is supposed to be between the two and how would you describe these two groups? And how did they originate / come to be?

What I mean by that is if a white person were to put a huge american flag on his truck people would think hes some kind of racist or white supremisist.

Another example is, when I was at a party and I asked a white guy to trade his green poker chips for my red ones and I said “So you can have the colors of the American Flag”(he had blue and white).

He said “So I’m a redneck now?” in a joking way, but it came from somewhere.

I am Hispanic and my girlfriend is white. We play around saying ethnic jokes about each other. Saying—“what your white?”” snowball”, “redneck”,” Cracker Jack” and “brownie.” I tend to sometimes think because my girlfriend is white she may be serious. I never had a white girlfriend before. Is this ethnic joke just playing around? My other girlfriends I had were Hispanic or black—we never play around racial with each other.

I’m not a redneck, i’m a country boy. I listen to country,i wear carhartt, i have a accent but black people act as if they have a problem with me. I don’t go around saying racist jokes or insulting blacks, it’s as if they automatically don’t like me when they see me. I also get dirty looks when i’m driving down the road because i have a big confederate flag sticker on the back of my truck.
