I don’t know, I don’t reckon you’re racist. My dad does the same things…if you’re not treating someone unequally and being unfair, I don’t see the problem. Just be kind to them, and they will probably change their minds.

Because maybe you really are different than most of the rednecks who still glide the stars and bars even though they know how much it upsets people, but it sounds like people are reacting to you like you’re not.

If you’re a country boy, don’t excellent ancient fashioned manners mean a lot to you? If so, why would you knowingly do something (that flag sticker) that you know is upsetting to so many people? That’s just terrible manners, and your momma probably raised you better.

You’re really wondering why blacks give you dirty looks when you guide around with a confederate flag sticker? Come on, guy. If you have any basic knowledge of history you’d know what the flag represents, and then you’d know why blacks might not above all care for it. I’ll give you a hint: it has to do with the North and South, and one of them wanted to keep blacks working under them as slaves.

But otherwise, flag issue aside, they probably are just used to getting racist behavior from rednecks. I despise to break it to you, but -most- people that look like you are racist and intolerant. I mean, I’m gay, and there’s no way I’d walk into a saloon or country bar. Those “country boys” would wanna beat my ass. The majority are close-minded, and people make assumptions based off past experiences. If a dog is abused by his owner, then you come along and he shrinks away from you, it’s the same type of scenario. You don’t abuse animals, but he goes by what he’s used to.

Sounds like it’s the others who are racist.

Just be proud of your history and culture, you have every right to be so.

(BTW The latest score is Yankees 1, Confederates 0……. AT HALF TIME)

A confederate flag is more joined to the hip with the Nazi flag, so it will turn heads and people will start to talk. You can dress up like a cowboy and listen to all the country music you like, but I would get rid of the confederate sticker on your car!…….there is some things that should be tucked away at home or left at home.

Bro, it’s probably the confederate flag. I’m Hispanic and my family seems to associate that flag with racism, even though they don’t know a thing about it. Very few people who use that flag are really racist, most are just proud of they’re heritage. Doesn’t that just suck? The majority of the south didn’t even own slaves, yet its associated with extreme prejudice. Also try starting a conversation with some black people, might ease the tension. Also be careful with calling African Americans “black” if your in a northern state, I’m from Cali and everyone seemed to say “African American” but not the black kids themselves for some reason.

Best of luck, country boy.

Don’t play dumb or innocent, the flag says it all.
